Travel and Venue Entry
Watching the Touch World Cup could not be easier.
Entry prices
Absolutely nothing! Entry is free and all are welcome!
Getting around
The 2024 Touch World Cup is based around sustainability and environmental welfare, hence we encourage everyone involved in the tournament to travel to the venue via foot, bicycle or public transport whenever possible. Highfields Sports Complex is served well by tram and public bus transport and is located just a short walk from the main University campus. Riverside Sports Complex is also served by public transport, but less frequently, so travel by car may be needed for some - please car share wherever possible though.
Getting around on foot or cycle
The two playing venues are linked by a 1.5 mile walkway taking people from the Science Park, adjacent to Nottingham Hockey Centre and Highfields Sports Complex, all the way to Thane Road and Powerleague football, adjacent to the Riverside Sports Complex. Grab yourself a takeaway coffee and stroll the 30 minutes between venues.
Public transport
Highfields Sports Complex is served by both trams and buses from Nottingham city centre.
It is a short walk from the University Boulevard stop on the Hucknall-Toton Lane line (which has national rail connections at Nottingham Station, Hucknall Station and Bulwell Station). There are Park and Ride facilities at Toton Lane, The Forest, Wilkinson Street, Moor Bridge and Hucknall stations.

Bus numbers 34 and 34C stop at Lakeside Arts Centre, a short walk from Highfields Sports Complex, and run from Nottingham City Centre.

Indigo Buses (part of the trentbarton network) also serve University Boulevard, running between Nottingham City Centre and Derby, Long Eaton and Briar Gate. CLICK HERE to see their route map. From July 14th, for £12 up to five people travelling together can get one day of unlimited bus travel on their buses.
Riverside Sports Complex is served by bus numbers 49, 49A and 49X, all of which pass along Thane Road and have a stop at Power League at the north end of the site - a 5 minute walk from the site. These services all run from Nottingham City Centre, and take approx. 10 minutes from Nottingham Station.

Participant shuttle service
For players, support staff and referees, the Nottingham Hockey Centre and Powerleague football are also the locations where you will pick up the bookable shuttle service between venues. Sorry this service is not available for spectators.
Travel by car
Parking at Highfields Sports Complex is very limited and we encourage the use of public transport for this venue. If parking is essential to you, it will cost £12.50 per day, payable on arrival and on a first come first served basis.
Parking at Riverside Sports Complex is less restricted and given the less frequent public transport to this venue, we have agreed a discounted access price of £5 per vehicle, again payable on arrival.
Please note ALL taxi, bus or other drop offs at Riverside should not be made on site, but instead should be made at Powerleague Football on Thane Road (NG7 2TG). This is to prevent congestion on the narrow access track to Riverside.
Bike hire
Bike hire operator Lime has launched an electric bike (e-bike) rental scheme in Nottingham, in partnership with Nottingham City Council. Users can pick up and return Lime e-bikes from a network of designated e-bike-hire bays across the city.
You can hire e-bikes through the Lime app which is available on the Apple app store or the Google Play store.
For more information about e-bikes see https://www.transportnottingham.com/cycling/hire-a-bike/
Lime charges a fixed rate (£1.00) to unlock an e-bike and then 19p per minute to ride.
A new bike station is being installed on University Boulevard, opposite Highfields Sports Complex, and for the duration of the Touch World Cup additional temporary e-bike parking spots will be near Lenton & Wortley Hall in the north area of the University campus. There is also a temporary station located at Powerleague, where spectators can then walk to Riverside Sports Complex.
