Medal rush continues in Scotland for Seniors and Masters

England Touch’s outstanding international summer continued in Stirling, as all 11 Seniors and Masters teams headed home with a medal.
Seven of those were Gold, with three Silvers and one Bronze, with two categories – Women’s 27 and Women’s 40 – seeing both England teams which had entered reach the final.
In the Women’s divisions, England’s strength in depth shone through. The 27s division was competitive, no more so than in the final when the England W35s held off their 27s counterparts to take Gold, 4-3.
The England W45s couldn’t match the upset against the England W40s though as the latter took the final 7-3.
In the Men’s competitions England dominated, beating Scotland in the 30s, Wales in the 35s and 40s, and Ireland in the 45s.
The 50s was the only competition where England were pipped at the final post, Scotland edging a dramatic final in extra time. There was nevertheless an added bonus as the 55s beat Portugal M50s in the Bronze medal match.
The Mixed 30s had an unbeaten weekend, capping off an outstanding three days in which they scored more than 50 tries in their four round-robin matches by beating Ireland in the Gold medal match.
