2023 Mixed NTS Round 1 – Divisions 1 and 2 preview
We head to Burton RFC this weekend for the opening round of the 2023 Mixed National Touch Series.
For the first time the Mixed NTS has been organised in divisions, with divisions 1 and 2 on Saturday and divisions 3 and 4 on Sunday. Results during the weekend will see teams promoted and relegated between divisions 1 and 2, and between divisions 3 and 4, which will bring some added competition as well as silverware.
As always, in addition to league points – whoever has the most league points at the end of the season will be crowned overall champion – individual trophies will be won at each event, too.
Division 1 is grouped into four pools of four, with division 2 in two pools of four, based on 2022’s finishing positions. Games will have 10-minute halves with three-minute half-times, with round robins in the morning followed by knockouts after lunch.

The 2022 Mixed NTS went down to the final round, with Galaxy London, NQ Rebels and Nottingham pushing each other all the way, entering the final day all tied on league points. That was the culmination of the most competitive year of Mixed Touch in recent memory, and division 1 this year includes historically established clubs along with those who have developed in more recent years.
Many of these are pooled with each other, making for an intriguing day of Touch.
Division 1 Pool A Galaxy London, Raptors, Revolution, Exeter
Division 1 Pool B NQ Rebels, London Scorpions, Manchester Foxes, Bristol
Division 1 Pool C Nottingham Hoods, Wigan Warriors, Oxford, Hot Custard
Division 1 Pool D London Eagles 1, Cambridge Hornets, Cambridge Bees, London Eagles 2
Division 2 includes a pair of local derbies, and is set to be just as tight.
Division 2 Pool E Crewe and Nantwich, Chester, Nottingham Mavericks, Galaxy London 2
Division 2 Pool F Canterbury, Cheltenham, Green and Gold, London Vipers
The Green Challenge Trophy continues into the Mixed NTS, with points and prizes on offer to teams and individuals who show their commitment to the environment! CLICK HERE for more information!
