University Touch Championships – the time is now!

The University Touch Championships taps off for 2022/23 this Saturday with Round 1 North in Sheffield.

Sheffield Hallam University provides the host venue for the first time, and 12 teams will be heading to South Yorkshire from as far afield as Cambridge, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Loughborough 1 set the pace in the North a year ago, but there will be plenty of competition from Durham, Leeds and Nottingham Trent, who all had strong national tournaments in the spring.

There could be some tight games in the pool stages, with Loughborough’s two teams drawn alongside each other and Durham 1 playing Leeds 1. We also welcome a second Nottingham Trent team for the first time!

The 12 teams have been split into three pools of four, with the first and second placed teams progressing into the Cup quarter finals along with the two best third-placed teams.

The remaining four teams will have a round-robin to decide who wins the Bowl.

Saturday’s games start at 9:30am, with the Cup final at 3:55pm.
