On The Seven Events confirmed as England Touch affiliate

The England Touch Association (ETA) has confirmed that On The Seven Events (OT7) is now an affiliated event organiser.

Following the satisfactory closure of an investigation, and several successful conversations, both parties have acknowledged that an effective and more collaborative relationship, will maximise opportunities for the Touch community in the future.

This confirmation follows the conclusion of an investigation process into OT7 and its management with regards to late payment of affiliation fees, which have now been resolved, and use of personal email addresses for marketing purposes without consent.

The OT7 management gave a number of assurances to the investigating panel as a condition for their affiliation, including pre-paying any and all affiliation fees as is standard practice for organisations working with the ETA, attending a GDPR course before the end of March 2022 and that all marketing targets will be given an option to opt in to receive emails before they are sent.

While no current ETA staff or volunteers were found to have handled data improperly, the panel also concluded that the ETA should review its own GDPR processes, including attending a course for relevant volunteers and reviewing its own policies.
