England Touch Association and EV2 Sportswear agree exciting new partnership
The England Touch Association (ETA) and EV2 Sportswear have today announced a new apparel partnership which will extend until at least to the end of the 2024 domestic and international season.
Part of the EMU Fourex group of companies, EV2 Sportswear has been supplying bespoke sportswear to the industry for over 40 years. The company’s UK arm has been operating for a decade and is an established brand within Touch, having worked with Scotland, Ireland, Luxembourg and Guernsey within the European game, along with a wide range of clubs, both domestic and overseas.
In addition to supplying on-field and replica wear, EV2 Sportswear is also highly experienced in producing imaginative leisurewear ranges. When combined with a UK-based manufacturing base reducing ordering times and environmental impact, EV2 Sportswear brought together the flexibility, quality and experience which put them ahead of their competition.
EV2’s kit will be worn at the 2022 European Touch Championships, and the firm’s team have already attended the most recent High Performance training camp to get feedback on the sizing and fit of men’s and women’s vests and t-shirts, and representatives from each squad are contributing to a focus group which will provide input into the designs that will be worn.
The EV2 brand will also be worn by the Regional teams at the Nationals during the term of the contract.
With EV2 hosting the ETA’s e-commerce platform, Chief Executive Chris Simon says that there is plenty of opportunity for this new partnership to go from strength to strength.
“We’re in the early stages of a new era for England Touch, and are committed to establishing the right partnerships to help us deliver our vision to make Touch a leading participation sport in this country over the next decade,” he said.
“In EV2 Sportswear we have a partner who are ideally placed to help us achieve this ambition. They ticked all our boxes, from the quality of their apparel, the value for money they could offer, and their commitment to grow the sport in a way which makes our two brands synonymous with each other, both in terms of inclusivity and sustainability.
“The reaction from our High Performance squads this weekend was very positive, and as we move into the design process along with the players’ focus group we believe that everyone involved will be even more excited about the prospect of wearing the new kit at the Euros later this summer.
“We believe that EV2 is the right partner for at least the next three years, and we’re all looking forward to developing a mutually beneficial partnership as part of our 2020s Vision for the sport of Touch in England.”
This sentiment was echoed by Gareth Moore, EV2 Sportswear’s Managing Director.
“We were excited to read the tender document and to find out more about England Touch’s ambitions for the future,” he said. “From our work within Touch in the UK and Europe we know that this is a fantastic sport to be a part of, and we know that we have the experience and expertise to be able to deliver what players and teams within England Touch need.
“On the field England is the leading nation within Europe, and from an organisational perspective the ETA has a really clear vision and strong ambitions to take Touch to a new level.
“It’s going to be a great few years for us both!”
