Travel update for new Covid-19 regulations | 30/10/20
Sport England has updated its travel advice for sporting organisations and teams to take into account the UK government’s new Covid-19 Tier regulations.
As an organised sport recognised by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, Touch clubs can remain training regardless of the Tier your area is in. However there is advice in place to restrict travel between areas in different Tiers as follows:
Medium (Tier 1): Travel for physical activity is allowed within and in/out of the area to fulfil a fixture or attend an organised sporting event. People should not travel into or from very high (Tier 3) alert areas to take part in sport and physical activity.
High (Tier 2): Travel for physical activity is allowed within and in/out of the area to fulfil a fixture or attend an organised sporting event. However, it’s recommended that travel is minimised where possible. People should not travel into or from very high (Tier 3) alert areas to take part in sport and physical activity.
Very high (Tier 3): People are advised not to travel into or out of areas that have a very high alert level, including for sport, unless this is necessary to enable individual exercise or to exercise for people from the same household or support bubble. This does not apply to travel where it is necessary to enable disability sport, sport for educational purposes, elite sport or supervised sport and physical activity for Under-18s to take place.
Clubs and players are reminded that all of the documentation and advice you need to make your training as safe as possible is at www.englandtouch.org.uk/coronavirus
