The final wrap from Putrajaya

It was an intense six days for #OneEngland at Touch World Cup 2019.

The team won a pair of bronze medals in the Women’s 27s and Women’s 35s categories, with the Men’s 30s, Men's 35s and Mixed 30s also reaching their respective semi-finals.

In all there were 82 matches played by the 10 teams, with more than 500 touchdowns scored.

Overall, all-bar-one of the teams finished in the top six of their categories as England reinforced its place as the third-best nation in the world across the entirety of the age ranges and categories.

A number of players reached personal milestones, too. Martin Wright (Bristol Fijians) and Ryan Miemczyk (BBR) played in their 75th international matches, with Rich King (CSSC), Sue-Ellen Godde (Cambridge), Byron Tibbitts (Bristol Fijians), Chris Wall (CSSC), Dom Tripp (London Scorpions), Julia Kang (Nottingham), Ollie Sills (Cheltenham), Ruez Durrani (Galaxy London) and Sarah Rosenburg (Bristol Fijians) all hitting the 50-cap mark.

In addition each squad handed out awards for the Coach’s MVP and Players’ Player of the tournament.
