Junior Touch Championships preview
This weekend is the time for the England age groups to shine at the 2018 Junior Touch Championships.
England is sending teams to Stirling, Scotland, in all four available categories – Boys’ 18s, Girls’ 18s, Mixed 18s and Mixed 15s – and collectively they will be a part of a tournament that has grown and grown in its four previous editions.
Boys’ 18s
2017 finish – 3rd
England will face Ireland, Scotland and Wales in a round-robin that will see each team play each other twice across August 17th and 18th. The first and second placed teams will face each other in the Gold Medal match, with the third and fourth placed teams playing each other in the Bronze Medal match, both on August 19th.

Girls’ 18s
2017 finish – 1st
There are six teams in the Girls’ 18s category, with England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales joined by the Middle East and Arabian Gulf. As with the Boys’ 18s, these six teams will play each other twice, with the top four teams progressing to the Gold Medal and Bronze Medal matches.

Mixed 18s
2017 finish – 3rd
Eight teams are taking part in the Mixed 18s – England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Czech Republic, the Netherlands and the Middle East. They play each other once in the round robin stages across August 17th and 18th, with the competition then splitting into knockouts on August 19th.
Teams one to four will go into the Cup, with teams five to eight going into the Plate.

Mixed 15s
2017 finish – 3rd
The same eight countries from the Mixed 18s have also entered teams into the Mixed 15s. This competition also has the same format for both the round robin and knockout stages as the Mixed 18s.
